Sweet Charity is a musical satire of the romantic adventures (or rather, misadventures) of Charity Agnes Valentine, a dance hall hostess at the Fandango Ballroom in New York City.   Charity and the other dance hall girls dream of a better life as they proposition patrons with the musical's most famous number, "Hey Big Spender".  Charity's adventures with men lead her to encounter Charlie, a handsome thief, who steals her handbag and pushes her into Central Park Lake.  Then, fate leads Charity to meet Vittorio Vidal, an Italian film star, who wines and dines her to make his beautiful mistress jealous.  Vittorio takes Charity to his Manhattan high-rise apartment where she sings the show stopping musical number, "If My Friends Could See Me Now:” Finally, Charity gets stuck in a broken elevator with a shy, claustrophobic tax accountant, Oscar Lindquist.  Does Charity find love?  Come and spend some time with TheatreCNU and enjoy the delightful misadventures of Sweet Charity.
